BETA INFORMATION AND SIGN-UP POST (OPEN)

introduction;

welcome to kaifectionery's first beta event! this post is here to help writers find potential beta readers and buddies who'll hold their hand and/or help find and edit issues writers think is going on with their stories. BUT REMEMBER, you are not allowed to disclose any type of information about the writer's fic you beta to the outside world. everything about their story is private and confidential, like a precious new recipe they're trying to create for a special event. please don't make this an event they wish to never try again.

so, what exactly does a beta reader or buddy do?

either way, a beta is someone who reads a writer's story and helps them by proofreading, editing, finding loopholes or anything else that the writer may think is lacking or needs some revising in the story. but! a beta reader is someone who has not claimed a prompt or maybe has claimed one but is simply offering their services to help a fellow writer out. a beta buddy is someone who has claimed a prompt and is willing to beta someone else's story but would like to have their own story beta'd in return.

okay… so is this event mandatory?

nope! this event is not mandatory. it's simply to help another writer out and possibly make new friends throughout the process! (if you didn't know, this is how the two mods found each other and became friends! mod sour was a writer and mod sweet was her beta ♥)

how exactly will this work?

below, there is a form to fill out if you would like to offer your wonderful beta services. just fill it out in a comment below and everything will be unscreened so you can look through the comments and see if a beta catches your eye. this will allow the writer to personally contact the beta reader/buddy themselves. though, if there are any issues, such as the beta not responding within a certain amount of time, please direct them to our attention immediately so we may sort things out.

and how long will this event last?

this event will be open until the last day of postings all the way in december! so, from today onward, this post will be open for all our writers and betas to look through.

guidelines;

username: your username
email address: preferably one you check often!
other methods of contact: anything else other than your email you check often - twitter, tumblr, kakaotalk, another email perhaps?
did you claim a prompt?: yes or no
buddy or reader?: are you a writer wishing to have a beta and offering your own beta services or simply a beautiful reader hoping to help a wonderful writer out?
what pairing(s) are you willing to read?: list all the wonderful jongin pairings you're willing to read, including if you're comfortable with jongin/crossovers, jongin/jongin, or jongin-centric
sweets?: anything you're absolutely willing to read (genres, etc.)
sours?: anything you're not willing to read (genres, etc.) and notps
time zone: please go by GMT format, so it's simpler for everyone to figure out.
